I have been using this app for years, when it was LifeUp Pro on Android. It literally changed my life! I struggle with executive functioning problems due to several neurodivergent conditions. This app is the perfect coping strategy to help keep tasks engaging by giving me the same dopamine hits I get from playing video games.
In the two years since I began using it, I have lost over 30 lbs, enrolled in a masters program, and overall improved my quality of life. So I am not exaggerating when I say this app literally changed my life.
Like LifeUp Pro, ulives was created and is maintained by a very small team of developers. Despite the small team, the developers are fantastic about accepting feedback and providing regular updates to improve the experience.
One change I would love to see is more precision with selecting days for tasks to occur. For example, I would love to be able to have a task occur monthly, but specifically on the first Saturday.

ulives turned my study time into a game I actually want to win — the only app that rewards consistency, not perfection.
I love how every Pomodoro I complete gives me coins I can trade in for rewards I set myself. Even on days when my mood is low, I can still log a little progress and earn something for it.
ulives has helped me break free from the all-or-nothing mindset. It makes discipline feel like a game, turns consistency into a streak I want to keep up, and gives me a way to measure effort instead of perfection.

I already left a review before, but I just can’t help myself — ulives keeps evolving, and I absolutely have to thank the developer again. The latest update added exactly the features I was missing.
What amazes me the most is that, as far as I know, this is all being developed by just one person. And that person clearly knows what they’re doing.
This app has become a part of my everyday life — and I’m genuinely glad I discovered it. If you’re still unsure — don’t be. Just download it and start playing with your to-do list like it’s an RPG, not just another sad adult responsibility.

Answers to the most common questions about ulives.
Yes. ulives is free to download and you can use all core task, habit, and reward features with no time limit and no ads. Premium is an optional one-time upgrade for extra customization and advanced tools.
Premium Membership is a one-time in-app purchase tied to your Apple ID. Once unlocked, all current Premium features that work fully offline (for example custom app icons, theme colors, auto-tracked achievements, the item crafting system, and the upcoming multi-profile feature) are yours with lifetime access on that Apple ID; there is no recurring subscription or time limit for these offline capabilities.
Looking ahead, we may add optional AI-powered or other online features that rely on ongoing server costs. Our goal is to keep these as low-cost and transparent as possible and avoid making you pay twice for what you have already unlocked. Whatever we add in the future, the offline Premium features you have today will remain available for lifetime use with that Apple ID.
We plan to develop an Android version of ulives, but we're currently focused on polishing the iOS experience first. In the meantime, you can try our previous-generation app, LifeUp, to experience our gamified productivity system on Android.
ulives prioritizes offline-first storage. Your data is stored as a database file locally on your device. Nothing goes through our servers, and the app works fully offline. Currently, you can use iCloud to back up and restore your data. We're also planning to add data export and more cloud backup options in the future.
Due to ulives's offline-first architecture, we can't provide a traditional web or desktop app (since there's no central server). However, we're exploring options for an offline-capable desktop version—either as a standalone app with its own local database, or one that connects to your phone's data. The exact approach is still being determined, and it may take some time before we can deliver it.
